I am sitting at the kitchen counter typing on our new toy, a little netbook. I wwould normally be in theoffice which is right next to the kitchen, but our 13 year old has shown us once again that she cannot be trusted out of our sight.
This morning Heather caught her trying to sneak stolen items to school and found money in her pockets that she stole from us. I guess we are getting to that stage where we have to lock everything of value up, which is not the way we want to live, but with FAS there are certain things that you need to do.
It is soo frustarting, I know that these are all things that come with FAS but I just keep hoping that she learn from her mistakes and not do it again and again
Sorry for the ranting, but as you all are well aware, this is part of the parneting of fas. Hopefully my next post will be more positive.

A lot of the FASD kids eventually learn not to take things that don't belong to them. Not all of them though. My daughter hit this milestone at about 21. My son is 27 and his wife still keeps all their money and the debit card under lock and key. My six year old doesn't know what property is never mind who it belongs to.
ReplyDeleteSorry, Jeff. It's so frustrating. She's a good kid and I'd be willing to bet that this behavior dies down after a while. Hang in there and feel free to vent anytime you need to.
ReplyDeleteThe babies are adorable!
